Why wellness?

I believe everyone deserves to do the things they love. Our aquatic programs are built to promote wellness, so you can get back to what brings you happiness. Wellness is an active choice to improve your quality of life holistically, with an approach that is individualized to you. This includes social, physical, emotional, intellectual, occupational, financial, environmental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Our aquatic wellness programs are thoughtfully created to help you build strength, confidence and independence so you can continue living the life you want to live. We strive to offer wellness without boundaries. Programs, sessions and goals are focused on your lifestyle and the things that you love to do, not your diagnosis. The pool is our tool to help individuals build the capability to keep doing what they love. This “capability” is not just physical. It includes the emotional capacity to step outside your comfort zone and try something you haven’t done in months or years. This environment allows us to challenge the way your mind and body coordinate and work together, work in groups to promote social wellness and community involvement, and practice outside, in fresh air, absorbing vitamin D and connecting with nature. The calming properties of water can also reduce stress, promote relaxation, and create space for improved physical and emotional wellbeing. Our goal is for you to live the lifestyle that you want, whether it be beach ready, travel ready, grandparent ready or ready to take care of yourself at home and become more independent. The pool allows your mindset to change from what you “can’t” do to what you “can” do. It is a setting for practicing life.

Aquatic wellness allows for active aging, increased internal motivation, fitness challenges and lifestyle changes. We work to provide a safe, supportive, empowering and motivating environment where adults can reclaim their independence and return to what they love. Everyone deserves a place where they can move freely, beyond fear and without boundaries or physical limitations. That is what wellness is all about: actively choosing to live fully, in a way that is meaningful to you.
